Thanks, Wayne. I was also shooting toward a late-afternoon sun, which is probably why the cardinal youngster looks kind of washed out.

One of the nice things about winter is that we will have up to a dozen cardinals in the back garden. In the spring, all but the mated couple will fly away (as will the white-throated sparrows and the snow birds).

Merry Christmas Glen, and thank you for the wintery shot!

(Is that a lake in front?)

A beautiful winter scene, Glenn.

The juncos are now back in force to keep company with the white-throated sparrows.

A couple of days ago, as I was walking in the neighborhood, a northern harrier swooped past. The second one I have seen in the 26.5 years we have lived here in Carlisle.

A few I haven't posted from the Rio Salado area. A flock of ducks out for the morning swim. Gambel's quail. House Finch, mourning doves and one taking off.

I like your first shot - but then I am always a sucker for water reflection shots!

Great shots, Wayne! That house finch is well camouflaged. We have a lot of those, although not as many as in the past. Sometimes the goldfinches outnumber the house finches here, and I don't recall ever seeing a purple finch west of the Susquehanna River (they are common in Cape May).

We also have a lot of mourning doves.

I have been trying to get some decent images of our backyard birds and hope to post some soon.

Those are superb images - far better than I can achieve through the dirty sunroom window. I have spent a long time looking at them.
