Beautiful hawk and egret shots, Wayne. Both birds common in my neighborhood, living 300 yards from the Conodoguinet Creek. Love to see the red tails circling in the sky (turkey vultures are more common and the sharpies tend to fly lower - sometimes straight down Mary Lane). We see great egrets and great blue herons on the prowl at the edges of the Conodoguinet and sometimes overhead.

Thanks for these beautiful images.

Don

That hawk seems to be missing a big chunk of feathers.... Right wing at the base?

Great pics.....!

That it does. The river is the flight path of Sky Harbor wonder if it had an incident with a light plane. Also a lot of heavy industrial trucks, cement plants, gravel pits around the area could have got into something there.

Looking for a Red Tail hawk

My search skills really suck and I'm trying to find a good Red Tail, free or pay for. So far all I've found is Fiddler's. Any suggestions?

What don't you like about thee FG one? With a bit of care it makes a fine model.

This one was printed 'Fit to page' on A3 card to double the size, which still doesn't make it life size, but it fits in well with my half size Osprey and the Canon Bald eagle.

Absolutely nothing. I was looking for something maybe more photo-realistic, mostly looking to see if there was a selection, since this is actually a project to share with my daughter and her son. FG's is about spot on and she really likes it.

Egret

This Egret was enjoying a couple of hours of fishing, so it gave me an opportunity yesterday to get some images. The photos came out okay, given the distance I was from the bird.

Good pics. Those birds are entertaining the way they wade around looking for something, then that quick jab with the beak to snag some munchies.

Nice pictures Michael!

I enjoy watch egrets as well - here we also have cattle egrets. They hand around cattle and other browsers and feed of the insects that get disturbed!
