Smile G scale railway, plus paper model.

How's this for a bit of lateral thinking? Merge both my modelling passions and create a Christmas tree decoration at the same time!

It's a G scale Bachmann 0-4-0 pulling a wagon that I've clad with a Santa sleigh from the Canon's creative park freebie site. I've also added a really annoying sound chip that plays Christmas tunes - it drives the dog mad

This was from last year, I'm still working on this year's version.

The 2012 version....

For 2012 I used the same wagon but with a new red card superstructure and a Santa's sack from Canon. Added a bit of pipe cleaner tinsel and some stickers - job done!
It's being pulled by a battery powered 'Lollipop Line' loco built from a wooden kit which I usually use to test my garden track before I let the live steamers out - I've found that if this little feller can run round without being derailed, then the steamers won't have a problem.

Cute, or what?

That is completely awesome. As a fellow G scale nut I salute your creativity in merging the two hobbies in a really great form. I especially appreciate how it drives the dog nuts, my cat alternates from being terrified of it to attacking my train.

cheers to you,
