All New Soda Can Spitfire
It has been a year since my last build. I had a customer want a spitfire built from RC. Here are some pics of the finished build. It took about 75 cans and 60+ hours.
The same guy is wanting a P38 lightening. That will be a fun one! |

Awesome. That paper is too stiff and sharp for me!

I'm always amazed by the can art pieces. Whose template did you use to base this model on?

Awesome! How do you keep your fingers intact? Do you wear chain mail or Kevlar gloves? And how do you attach them? Solder?

I had started off using hot glue exclusively. Works great but it gets irritating because of the mess it makes. Though I still use it, I try to use two sided carpet tape whenever possible. That really helps keep the builds much cleaner. |

A spitfire out of RC cola, now that's an interesting color scheme to request. Perhaps he wanted to emulate a supermarine Seafire? I have always used a green can and then made the insignias out of others. I did mine out of Wal-Mart Sam's choice Mountain Thunder cola: Anyhow, nice job. Interesting use of carpet tape in the construction as well.... |

Great work and nice photos. I didn't realize how large your models were until I got to the photo of the A-10. I have enough trouble coaxing paper into shape sometimes. doing the same thing with aluminum is pretty amazing.
