Got to try it out for the first time this summer at Torrey Pines. I couldn't believe the amount of control it has. I used to hang glide and taking off and landing with a paraglider is a bit easier. I'll be interested to see how you progress.

Lot easier to carry up a hill than a hang glider. Used to have a Cirrus B (1981-83). Long time since I've flown one. The wing weighs 13.22 lbs or 6kg. Then include rucksack, harness, and stuff bag and hike up the hill. Foods extra. Weight range of my wing is 198.5lbs - 265.5 lbs - the 13 lb "Wing" can lift safely. Weigh 8 lbs less than this, but weight of flight gear, reserve, & misc., will be good. Mike

Paragliding is great fun.
I did quite a bit of it a few years ago now. Get some good quality boots with ankle support. The most common injury is a twisted ankle closely followed by broken ankle. Quality boots will be a great investment. Have fun and stay safe. |
