When I'm not asleep

I hope people won't mind me sharing a little of my other work.

When I'm not unwell I also paint and draw. Here is a large painting I did of a local beach, a drawing of a wheelwright's shop, a pyrography plaque of an otter, a friend's dog, and a music box I made with glass engraving and embroidery. I work in all mediums and very privileged to have been welcomed as a member of our local art community, managing to contribute to their yearly art exhibition. I'm not a 'good' artist, but make up for lack of quality with quantity. Sadly although spending a lifetime producing and selling (plus freebies) hundreds of artworks, not to mention teaching graphic design, there are still many people who like to tell me that because of my disabilities I've been nothing but a burden on society...and that's why I always feel so negative about everything I try to do. People don't ask to be born creative, but most enjoy it, and I'm rather fated to be so because my Dad and his brothers were also all artists. Plus I'm a full bloodied Gemini, so my 'fate' was sealed!

My favorite is also the beach picture.
A memory of beautiful vacations on the coast of England. :-)

I'm not familiar with 'pyrography'. Very nicely done.

It's another way of saying "woodburning". Very precise woodburning, and very beautiful.

Beautiful work. Your talent extends across a wide spectrum of mediums which all require different skills.

That is some beautiful and amazing work! I like to see what others do in various mediums. I can't say which is my favorite (comparing different mediums to me is like apples and oranges- I like them both!).

I'm a little partial to the dog, reminds me of our Maltese. Thanks for sharing.

Best Regards,

They are beautiful and well worth what you get for them. The people who tell you that you are a burden to society have the disabilities.
