Bicycle, bicycle, I want to ride my bicycle...

With apologies to Queen

Yes, when I'm not slicing small parts off my fingers I'm out on my bike trying to keep in shape an clock good times in races! Best I've done is 3:36 for the 94.7, which is a 94.7km(59 miles) race around Johannesburg. (average speed was 26.7 km/h or 17 m/h) Maths might be slightly off, but the figures are acurate

I'm getting really good at falling of my bike. Although recently learned that due to my bad knee, it hurts to land now.

I don't race but I really do love to ride. I put 500-700 miles/ year on my "really fast lawn chair."

I was never very fast, about the best I could ever manage was a 5 hour century. My greatest achievement came in 1983 and took 87 hours and ten minutes.

Nope, I want to do it! Living in Jo'burg and having young kids (5 1/2 & 18 months) provides a certain amount of "logistical" difficulties! (want to make a holiday of the trip to "like, the mountain." Pencilled in for 2016 though.

Aiming to do the Amashova this year though.

Very nice ride Sakrison, I'm sure you avoid "saddle-butt" I've included a pic from the start of the 2011 race, was quite hot, but nowhere near as bad as 2013
