Bob Penikas Aviation Artist

Ok I know it’s plastic (and rhymes with toxic) but a paper modeling friend of mine Bob Penikas who is member of this list did the Box Art for the models on this web site.

Along with being an Aviation Artist, Bob is a retired Professional Photographer and a Flight instructor for 747’s (I have the impression that he was flying before he could drive a car) and a heck of nice guy.

Hey, don't worry about that being plastic. Besides that fact that it's so awesome, Bob is a very active supporter and promoter of paper models. Many of the website images of the FG models come from Bob.

These kits at the moment, are the big topic on the WWI list that I'm on.. Bob did a great job on the artwork. Doing my best not too succumb to getting one of these beauties.

Wow I didn't know Bob was so talented in more ways than building, that is awesome. I wonder if we could talk him into some ww2 aviator figures 1/33? I owe Bob thanks for his kind words when the fg staggerwing came out.

Mia coupa, mia maxima coupa, Forgive me for I have made a grave error, Bob sent me a note about a new web page which was the wingnutwings site. I did not notice that it was a message forwarded form Steve Anderson who is the artist of the box art. I can only blame my error on having an alz…….. Oh Dam I forgot the word again.

Bob is a Aviation Artist the photo is a print of one of Bob’s watercolors.

Peter,

When I first looked at these kits one of my first thoughts was that you would like them.

Jim..

Oh I like them alright.. getting high review marks from the guys on the WWI list...
Having you state that Bob was the artist of all the art work, I went and purchased all of them.. Just kidding.. Very tempting to get one of these, but I've already gotten two "plastic" kits to work on for the year, and that's enough .
The Moebius "Invisible Man", and the new Roden "British Armoured Car 1920 Mk.I"

Really looking forward too seeing what the new Modelik "St. Charmond" is like. Hopefully the quality is up there with the BA-6. Will give a review if someone else doesn't give one sooner..
