I have looked for these on eBay, and some are very expensive, even if you can find one.

Great job, Peter. I remember the Dutch flintlock pistol well, my mom built it for me!

That model and others are sold still now by Lindberg. I see at Hobby Store. They have new name like Caribbean Pirate Pistol.

She's right....

They have 4 differnt versions of hand weapons out right now. The boxes are easy to miss because they are packaged as colorful kid's toys but they are the same molds.

Here's a sample:

They are probably hoping that people who were into "Pirates of the Caribbean", would be buying them..

They have Caribbean Pirate Skull model. IMHO it looks like dead rapper skull with gold tooth and doo rag. Very odd item to build. I never work with plastic kit before.

Thanks Fred... My Mom would buy them, but I had to build them.... Here's another oldie from Life-Like that I want to do at some point. I also have the "stagecoach" issue.. Two that I would like to get, but when they come up on ebay are always going for prices out of my reach. are "the Chuck Wagon" & "the Corral Scene"..

See Epic Movie for the pirates/rapper connection; important American culture there, close to the level of Godfather or Wiseguys for understanding us...:D

Yep, I would have to agree on the movie connection in an attempt to peddle their product. Looking at the linked page, what had been originally described as historically accurate has now been apparently captured by the pirates of the Caribbean. Although the blunderbuss would be wa-ay cool, may have to break down and snag that one.
