had the overnight layover? Here's some shots of coming into Tempe before pulling out and heading into Phoenix.

Here's the link to the file with a few more photos: https://whulsey.smugmug.com/Trains/2...P844/i-ZXfpSZs

Couple of color pictures

Same trip, same train just in color. In the picture of the train at the station the man standing on the right is my Dad, a 90 year old WWII vet of the 84th Infantry Division. The picture of the Engineer's seat is from the #940 locomotive.

Here's some shots from Abo NM in Sep 2010. It's a grade east of Socorro on US Hwy 60.

Its a designated historical area, since there are Indian ruins that date back to the 14th century in the area along with some unique geological formations. Nice area, which I'd had more time to explore.

Found photos...

Photographs from a negative I found in a box from photographer's studio.

I believe they were taken in Rochester, NY in the early 1930's.

Russ those are neat. Looking at the fender lines of some of the cars in the 4th photo they have a 34-35 look to them, especially the one just pass the electric pole. . Hard to tell at that angle and size.
