I've never tackled a vacform model; I admire your bravery, especially with a curvy beast like the C-97!

I've built a few vac u forms over the years. Nothing lately.
My biggest undertaking was a 1/32 f-105 G model,Thud. Waaaayy back when I built it, there was no such thing as aftermarket add on accessories, like they have now. Everything was scratch built.
Ah yes, paper works just fine for me now, thank you.

The only vacform I built was a Llag-3 and I sanded one half of the fusealage too much. When I put the two halves together, th fuselage curved to the left. I do have two other kits I'll tackle someday, an Albatross C3 (don't recall the manufacturer) and a Martinside Elephant from Roseplanes.

I tried to do a Jupiter 2 kit back in the 80's. It's more putty than plastic!

Forgot all about vacforms - I remember these from the '70's - crude and next to impossible to build! Very expensive!

Do they still do them?

Yeah, but sometimes you just have to dig in and see if you have what it takes to produce a nice model from the lesser quality kits.
