Looking closer at the picture, especially under the wing, it does have a hamburger stand look to it. Why don't we have interesting hamburger stands like that anymore?

There's still a few like that in California central valley. But in most large cities, zoning and real estate values tend to rule.

Robert,

That Gooney Bird up on display is just blasphemy!

The Gooney should be on its wheels, ready for another pop & chips run!

Alan - worse then that we have a garage here with an Avro Shackleton perched on the top.

It used to be painted like a coke bottle.

Boeing 707 328C

Here's another interesting plane - a Boeing 707-328C.

These flew from 1982 until 2007.

There were 5 in total, supplied by Israel. The photos show one at the end of its life.

The aircraft were truly multi purpose - being used for air to air refueling, maritime patrol (including down to Antarctica) and ELINT.

The side-cheeks (identical on both sides of the plane) housed the automatic ELINT Emitter Locating System (AEELS)/Elta 8300 ELINT suite. The aircraft never carried any Side Looking Airborne Radar.

------------------------------

The last picture is an odd one of a Mirage F-1CZ in its cheetah "camo" scheme. Aircraft retired now.

Eurocopter AS350 B3 SAPS

The Police helicopter often comes around our house as they check the roads after a hijacking has occurred.

They circle round and round until satisfied the area is clear - as there are a lot of trees it takes a bit of work and they fly very low and slow. At night the searchlight lights up our bedroom often!

The other day I grabbed my camera and got this shot. Note the door gunner!

The helicopter is a Eurocopter AS350 B3 - Murph's models have a model of the SAPS one at a very reasonable price.

See...

"The Police helicopter often comes around our house as they check the roads after a hijacking has occurred" Sounds like when I used to live in downtown Anaheim during the gang and biker drug wars. I used to tell people that at night just following the circling helicopter light to get to my block.

Here's a B-17G and a Ayers Corporation STR-34 at Tulare, CA airport just off Hwy 99 about 3 miles south of the house I was buying there. Be so happy when that sour deal gets all wrapped up.
