Ugh! Pity.

But the ones you just posted are fine - thank you very much. It's nice to see the aircraft types and the different settings.

A380

just found this - a picture I took in 2006, of the first A380 (on a proving flight) to ever land in South Africa.

And here is one I took today on my way back from a trip - a Grumman Gulfstream 2B about to depart from Lanseria Airport, Gauteng.

Thanks Don.

I used to like taking pics of aircraft, but rarely get the opportunity nowadays. YesterdayI had to go further afield and on the way diverted to an airport for pics, and then also found a couple of tanks by the side of road!

Tanks? There must be a story there. Do we get to see images?

Fuel Stop For Avgas

Here is one you might like. Still a hard working workhorse. Have videos of it taking off and landing, talk about a sweet sound!

This was on 4-14-18, fueling up for a flight to Mt Denali and back.

Don - the two vehicles I found at Services "shellhole", and amazingly they have not yet been stolen (or parts thereof) for scrap. Excellent condition - a Crusader MKII and a M3A1 Stuart.

I will post some pics - somewhere in the Forum. Do we need an armour section I wonder? Or is there one I have missed!

---------------------------------

Mike - very nice DC4. In brilliant condition.... Nice it is still in the air.

And I see in front of the DC4 someone's pride and joy, yes? But Mike, where are the registration markings or is it masquerading as a CIA COIN aircraft?

Anchorage, Alaska Ted Stevens International Airport 747's

Yes, I'm keeping my distance. Notice that I was third in the line for take-off.
Aircraft, Glider and Balloon Pics - Anything real, military or civil, that flies!-rv-6-view-747-2-.jpg

July 29, 2018 11:45 PM at night.

Flew up to Anchorage to pick my son up, who flew to Alaska from Phoenix for my daughter's wedding. I picked him up and we were taxing out to return to Kenai.

Noting like getting the warning, "Caution Jet Blast!" from the control tower as I was taxing, behind me was a smaller Boeing 737...Why didn't the Tower warn him of Prop Blast?

Anyway setting sun and two cargo Boeing 747s leaving on the same runway.

Yes, one of the 747's main gear is not only bigger, but twice as heavy as my little Vans RV-6.

Mike
