quick look # 46: Trumpeter US MaxxPro MRAP

https://youtu.be/so4P3nkOcXY

Here is the 1:16 Trumpeter US MaxxPro MRAP. Big kit with large sprues, large runners, and parting lines. I don't know how I screwed up with the G10 & G27 and glued them backward opposite side of each other. The parts were sticking out to the back too and I didn't notice them till much later during the build. Don't know what to say about that, really feel like an ass. And I don't know what going on with D26, it missing something? A back part, maybe? Lense? Why don't they cover the backside of D26? If you don't glue G26 to F13 the front wheel can rotate. Other than that, really nice kit a lot of fun to build!

Thank you very much for watching!

Just took a look at your video. That kit is huge. Lots of pieces as well.

Thank you for watching :D

I forgot to add that the driver and passenger doors don't like to stay close, could be I didn't a good job putting it together. I do have a lot of fun building it and I'm sure the 1/16 M-ATV will be just as fun and I will try very hard not to screw up on that one. :D

Wow, as mentioned it is big. Trumpeter kits always seem to have something screwy about them, more then most plastic kits. Only have a couple that I got of their 64-5 Ford Falcon which is one of my favorite cars. The ht especially was off enough that I wished I'd taken the price of it and added a bit more to have tracked down an original AMT.

I'm warming up to Trumpeter, they look like enjoy doing things and in scale that no one is doing.

Think they've gave up on the car modelers since they got so much grief on all their civilian car-truck releases except for the American La France fire truck. Which is too bad since they picked some interesting subjects.

I bought there 1/32 F-105g, and it too is huge. Looks pretty good overall with a few minor inaccuracies . Also bought some detail sets to add to it.
Now I know why I stay with paper modeling. After adding up the price of the kit and all the extra goodies, I could have bought like twenty paper kits. And that doesn't include paint and whatnot.
