Papermate,

Just found your work. So awesome! Couple questions

How do you cut out your pieces?
How fo you engrave detail?
How do you make the aluminum flat after it has been curved as the can?

Looking forward to more of your creations!

There used to be a guy in Hawaii that had a little aluminum can art museum / shop. He'd sit in the front window making little soda can airplanes.

There's a couple of very good tutorials on YouTube that show you precisely how this is done. Should check them out, you'd be surprised how easy it is...

Thanks guys for having an interest in this sort of so called can arts. There are lots of videos and tutorials on the web to show you some "original" pieces made out of cans. They are truly ORIGINALS, made possible out of the artists' own creativity and imagination.

What I do is sort of Secondary Creation, meaning that I work on others' original work. An example is Aaron Murphy's template that I used when I made my can planes.

So you have a choice of inventing your own model like an aircraft resembling (closely or remotely, or artistically) a jet or a bi-plane or using somebody else's creation to work on it with cans. The former shows a lot of creativity whereas the latter focuses on details and more accurate proportions.

As much as I would like to see more of your models in 1/200 these look fantastic.
Also some one outside of the hobby may like them.
Nice!

Now that I think about. Some of the cans you use may very well be recycled aircraft aluminum. From airplane, to can, back to airplane!
