No, only once in a while when cutting up the sheets from the soda or beer cans.
I'm very cautious for most of the time. The only problem is to remove the excessive or accidentally run CA glue on my thumb and index fingers. As a solution, I sticky taped my fingers and thumb when glueing. Papermate |

Murph's SPAD XIII in Coca Cola Pops Can, 1/33
Another can plane coming up. It's Murph's SPAD XIII in strictly Coca Cola pops can with rigging and spinning props. Practically all the details on the paper templates are engraved on the aluminium sheets. So it was quite a lot of work. In rigging, I have made copper wire eye hooks for the silver threads to pass through, and it was round of work through the night. Anyway, it's done.

And some close-up pics to show the details.

Oh,my...So that's what you have been doing recently. That is some excellent work.I use to work with thin sheet metal for living and I don't miss it at all.I much prefer paper cuts.
Is that SPAD in original scale ? |

Beautiful job, but I don't remember a Coca Cola Show Bird Spad, lol.

Butelczynski, thanks for commenting. The original scale is 1/23 but I would like to have it compatible with my other builds.
Burning Bear, thank you. Neither have I seen a Coca Cola SPAD before. Papermate |

I built the SPAD out of Shasta Cola back in 2008 and the red really didn't do much for me personally. A few years later, I revisited the iconic fighter and re-built it out of Mountain Dew to closely resemble the green infused color scheme that you see in most photos and I found it made for a much better looking model.
Question: What do you estimate to be your total hours in on this one, just out of curiosity? |
