Navion 1/33

Hi Bob, how's your Navion coming? I've got mine done up to cutting out all the fuselage parts but now at a stop figuring out how to glue the wings to the fuselage without a central wing spar of something like that! Any advices? Will likely put on hold as I have other "paper" projects going on.

The build is at 1/33 and the glueing method is what I've been using all along.

2018 To-do List of Soda/Can Planes

And I would like to announce my 2018 to-do list though not all will be in the order they are presented. May be surprises that new ones may come in if I an urge and no guarantee that all will be completed this year. I started a little here and there to remind myself that there are unfinished projects to take care of. Actually, that's very bad!!

Those will really be cool!!! A smart ad exec at a soft drink company could make neat advertising with these, but of course the operative word is "smart".

Thanks guys. Yes, you do. Murph's Tri Motor will be built on the inside of the can.

In 20+ years of building with cans, I can honestly say I've never met one. The last one I proposed to build a 7 foot RMS Titanic with a generous donation of their cans and never heard from them...

That will be interesting. CA glues in gel formula will not hold well when building in reverse so it will be interesting to see how standard CA glue holds up. I've even recently experimented with boiling the cans and removing the paint, but once again, the slight alteration of the surface resulted in CA gels not working so well....

Like I said ... You haven't found a smart one yet. Nice R2 BTW!

Bruno's DC3, 1/144, Beer Can Plane

Bruno's DC3, at 1/144, the smallest scale that I've done so far, is coming to shape. It measures some 20 cm (abt 8") in wing span, and 14.5 cm (abt 5-3/4") in length. Pending construction of struts for the main landing gears (not provided in Bruno's kit) and spinning props, this beer can DC3 will pass the finish line soon.
