Hi Aaron,

Yes, very interested. Looks great!

Way better than what I do.

Do you mind if I copy this and post on the RV website? Lots of interest there for my simple model, in fact it made the front page today, might be some interest for other pilots/owners there. Van's Aircraft RV Builder Forums and News.** ¯¯VAF¯¯

Best regards,
Mike

Go for it. I'm going to do your markings, and see what others strike my interest.

Hi Aaron,

You might want to do one in white-someone on the other site is asking for one to test their paint ideas!

Let me know when you have them listed for sale; a link and I'll post on the RV site so others can purchase.

Bet you'll soon be getting requests for the whole line-up of Vans aircraft. Worlds most popular homebuilt airplanes, over 10,000 flying.

Will you be doing instructions, or is that something I could help with?

More than willing to help with an Alpha or Beta build.

Thank you Aaron for showing interest in this project and helping out!

Mike

If you make a model of the plane you can always have a Paint Mbauer's Plane Contest.

There are plenty of different paint schemes for these Vans RV. Builders after spending several years, want something unique. Lots and lots of ideas available.

There is a thread on VAF that builders have posted to about their graphics.

The RV-6 model, like I have, is the most built RV (over 2600 have been built and flown). It has been discontinued as far as production kits. Mine 1st flew Aug. 1998 so it just had a 20-year birthday of sorts. Original paint still looks good. I've touched it up in a few spots though.

Typically 4-5-years to build; some do it in a couple while others take over 10.

BTW: the second photo looks like a newer model called the RV-8. The canopy is totally different as the pilot sits up front, the passenger sits in the back. RV-8 slighter bigger airplane that can handle more Horse Power. RV-6 pilot and passenger sit side by side.

I noticed it was a different plane, but I still like the markings. Plus it would be a good counterpart to the one dressed up in WWII US colors.

Speaking of colors:

Did you want anything on the tail? I left the registry where it is in your picture of the actual plane, but wasn't sure if you wanted the "Cloud Chasers" logo on the tail.

(I kinda like the idea of leaving the tail plain, as it leaves all the focus on the bird on the fuselage and wings.)

Wow, nice work! Thank you! You work fast.

Agree with you, let's leave the tail blank. Tried different looks for it using feathers, it just removes from the main focus, and looks way to "cartoony" for me. Several have suggested adding something, but, I think it looks ok without anything.

The "Cloud Chasers" is a decal that came with the airplane when I bought it. Not sure If I will remove when I add the graphic, thinking the plural will mean more with the graphic in place. Almost would rather it said Cloud Dancer but, still need to get with an instructor for aerobatics....Might change it then! (have performed a couple of loops)

I just uploaded the B&W to the repainter's nook, so let everybody know.
I'll send you the colored version so you can do a better job on it than I did.
