Apollo Program LEM Model

So somehow, I ended up getting a small 3D printer. Otherwise known to traditional artists as "Satan's Chisel". After playing around with it for a while, getting to know how to work with it, I decided I wanted to print some spacecraft. I was not happy with the models made for printing I found online so I am designing my own. Here are a couple of pictures of what I have made so far. It's still a WIP, but I am learning a lot about the lunar landers and 3d printing. I made a timelapse video of one of the prints, and it looks like it just magically appears. Believe me, it ain't that easy.

There are some excellent paper models out there, btw. Some are extremely detailed and look pretty durn awesome, as I am sure that you are aware.

Fascinating...

I had always thought that the front of the LEM had a face (the two triangular windows and the door).

Printed in black, it almost looks Vader-esque!

Thanks for sharing!

I sure will. I still have to finish out the legs and antennae, but I will share them when I get them all finished up.
