I too built the black knight. it was a very cool kit at the time, I don't remember how the fit was but it turned out to be a 10 y/o kid's bookend.

Built the Red and the Black Knights in the 1960s. They had lots of detail, and I thought must be models of real armor in some museum. There was a history that went with each. Did not know there were 4.

I built some very similar models in the '80s. I am now wondering if they were reissued by other manufactures.

A couple were repopped by Mongram a few years ago. With the Hobbico bankruptcy a bunch of the old Revell-Mongram kits, including Renwal and Aurora tools, that they owned, were sold to Atlantis Models. Haven't heard if they have the Knights or if they're set for reissue - but they are doing some already that haven't seen the light of day (or hobby shop shelf) in years. https://www.atlantis-models.com/

They may have been reissued as Revell since at that time they were swapping names around. There was also a Gold Knight that was riding on a horse, think it was reissued also.

I kind of remember building the Red Knight back in the mid 1960's. It did not survive the BB gun.

How nice to know that Revell/Monogram moulds are alive and well and perhaps ready to be injected. Not only the Aurora moulds that Monogram purchased in 1977 but all the beautiful Monogram and Revell old models with a charm that no other models have.

I remember lusting for these kits as a youth, especially the mounted Gold Knight, but they were way beyond my apprentice pay packet.

They would make interesting subjects as paper models now though ... Just saying like, in case any designers are looking for inspiration.
