Railroad structures

I mentioned I my post of Sts Cyril and Methodius (Architecture forum ) that I had joined a Model Railroad society and they had asked me to build several structures for them. Although they do a lot in plastic, I was asked to do my projects in wood. There were three projects that I completed: coaling station, ice house and caboose buildings. The scale was HO (1:87)
The coaling station is “wharf style”…that is the coal cars are moved to the top of the structure, unload the coal into bins which gravity feed the tenders below. The first two photos show the coaling station/sand house and the trestle leading up to it. It is between 9 and 10 feet long in total and hasn’t quite been finished (there is track that needs to be removed and track that needs to be laid…which is someone else’s responsibility). It was scratch built based on very little information.
The third photo is an ice maker and ice storage house which is kit-bashed.
The fourth photo shows the structures for servicing cabooses which were kits.
Interesting and challenging projects.
