Happy Birthday to the U.S. Air Force and good wishes to you, Flyboy!
When I read your post, I realized that Army Aviation also came into existence with the passage of the 1947 National Defense Act. The official birthday of Army Aviation is 12 April 1983, when the branch was established. I have asked the U.S. Army Aviation Museum to tell me what the name and organization of Army Aviation was at the time the 1947 NDA came into effect. I will let you know if and when I get an answer. Until then, all the best and thanks for your friendship. Dogface sends |

Yes, glad to say Happy Birthday USAF!
Don; 1983 is that when the Army Aviation Officers were able to wear the old WWII style prop and wings again? I know it happened just before my WORWAC class of 85-01. Warrant Officer has different insignia. Mike
