I found the link to this page while reading some of my news pages while I am at lunch

I will have to explore the links in the article some more when I get home tonight, but this apparently works using Mapquest and the Silhouette cutter.

The more elevation change in the area of interest, makes for a better model.

As an Earth Science geek, this is really cool for me

That looks very interesting. The MapQuest topo information is neat. Did not know it existed so have bookmarked the page. Thanks for the heads up.

Looks like you can get some good models to cut and assemble.

I can imagine doing the Face on Mars using that technique. I'm curious, are there any topographic infos available on it?
