I did find pulverized gum arabic at a gourmet cooking store, I guess they are trying to break out of the cooking niche market and into the broader market of paper modeling. |

Should be able to find it at a good art supply store also. Its the binder for traditional water colors.

Back when I was doing calligraphy as a regular thing we would add gum arabic to ink or gouache to keep it from spreading on slick papers.
