Thanks Leo ..

"The first R-7 rocket blasted off from Site 1 in Tyuratam on May 15, 1957. The world's first artificial satellite was launched from the same pad on October 4, 1957. After the launch of the first manned spacecraft, Vostok-1, in 1961, the pad at Site 1 was nicknamed "Gagarinskiy Start" (Gagarin's pad).

The complex remained operational at the turn of the 21st century, upon hosting more than 400 launches."

The launchpad for the world's first human spaceflight made by Yuri Gagarin on Vostok 1 in 1961 , the site was referred to as Site No.1 ( Площадка №1 , Ploshchadka No. 1 ) as the first one of its kind.It is also sometimes referred to as NIIP-5 LC1 , Baikonur LC1 or GIK-5 LC1 .

Wonderful! Incredible. Beautiful! All that detail, all those towers... The size... I guess I am out of words.
Great, great build. Definitely one of the greatest I have witnessed.
Thanks for sharing it with us, Zoli.

Merzo, Although your masterpiece looks brilliant in your Rocket Gallery, it really belongs in a museum. Wonderful work and thread. Congratulations on a very successful project.

Looking forward to your next build

merzo,

congratulations for building such a wonderful model! I can only vaguely imagine the pain you must have had in your fingers after cutting out the parts for all the trusses, but you did it with spectacular results!

Respectful regards,
Thorsten

Congratulations Merzo. I think this is the model of the year. Wonderful.
By the way, on the first pic in front of your flatscreen is that a papermodel of a AN-225? And where have you found this one?

When someone is looking for an example of just how good a card model can truly be, this is one of the shining examples we fellow modelers can hold up. Sometimes, I fear we cardmodelers have an inferiority complex when dealing with our styrene/resin cousins, but it is models like Merzos that allow us to tell folks we take a back seat to nobody.

That said, that Saturn V is now looking kind of lonely, Merzo. Maybe it needs an LUT and a Mbile Launch Platform. And of course if you're going to build an MLP, you'll need a Crawler-Transporter....
