1/96 Taurus 3110
Gang,
My last for 2010: a 1/96 Taurus 3110. Model designed by Erick Munoz. The model represents the launch vehicle for NASA's Orbiting Carbon Observatory. Unfortunately, the Taurus payload fairing was too heavy, and it placed the OCO in aquasynchronous orbit -- that's the ocean -- near Antarctica in February 2009. I built this one almost stock. Only non-kit parts are the cable runners (plastic half-round rod) and the very tip of the payload shroud (Sculpy). May all your cuts be straight and all your edges colored in 2011! Nice one, Les! How did you get the glossy effect? Paint or paper?
happy new year! |
