Nah, they were just there in the dream and I was counting booster segments. Clashing Titans would have been much more interesting.

Here's my rough engineering mockup of the Delta IV. I had no idea that rocket was so big. These are all in 1/96 scale, you can see how much bigger than a Titan IIIe it is.

Speaking of the Titan IIIe, I'm doing the final edits on it today.

Here's the second prototype of the engine section. First prototype was torn apart, scanned, cleaned up and used as the guide for this.

Really looking great!

Hey, Chris...where's the Titan II ICBM?

Cheers!

I'm amazed at your ability, Mark! How did you get the recessed parts looking so smooth? Almost looks as if there are no join lines!

That's beautiful! Those lines are pristine and bang on. That's what I was hoping for. Well designed! Looking forward to the rest.

That would be my amazing ability to produce crappy photography.

There are joins there, but if I can communicate the construction technique I used via the instructions, it shouldn't be too difficult to duplicate. Right now, that section has 12 parts, but the construction is kind of non-intuitive with lots of paper folding, curving and bending. Oddly, my most important skill in making this work might be my writing skills, something I find a little terrifying.

I'm still a little blown away by the sheer size of this thing. It's my largest model yet, and I'm a little concerned about getting this on common sized paper. The first stage tube will be at least three parts.

Anyway, all the major structural parts are laid out, tonight I'm working on the artwork for the parts. (I always create the blank structure first, then add the color and detail.) Yeah, not really paying attention to the big football game.

I sent it and the Atlas Agena target vehicle a few days back. He'll have it up soon. I'm always amazed at the quick turnaround he does with all the kits and the presentation on the site; I know what a job it is keeping up with all this and making it all run. Chris gets a big thumbs up from me.
