I'm running out of explatives to express what I feel about this design!!

I'll just repeat myself...Outstanding!! Awesome!

Really great work, nice the way the parts line up just like you designed them...now to figure out how to correct that slight gap.

Cheers!
Jim

Unhappy

Ken, it looks really, really good ..... and I fear that it is such a perfect model that someone of my limited skills would just not cope. Bugger! :-(

I think this model will entail a very patient and intense build...even with my limited skills I will have to try it and do my best.

For a kid of the 60's, this is really the ultimate model, representing the best and most positive aspect of that time. The influential people in this country were bold then, where aerospace was concerned. The Gemini was considered a pilot's spacecraft, but Apollo was so elegant, and this model captures that.

Bernoulis- Don't get yourself down. Even though Ken's models are super detailed, they are of suberb quality and fit. So long as you cut the parts out correctly and pre roll them a bit, it will build like a dream.

Apollo fans,

I appreciate the faith you have in me! Inspires me to work extra diligently to make sure there are no disappointments.

Well, I scaled the exterior shell parts by 1.003 X. That's 3/10ths of a 1 percent!

IT WORKED!

I think I will go a tad bit more just for a good factor of safety.

Notice the roll engine peeking through the banana-shaped hole in the second picture?

Ken

Nah! As long as you don't use a chainsaw to cut the parts, the model has no option but to go together as designed.

Ken

Yeah, I already saw that one. I was wondering about the particular shape. Why was it shaped like that?

It's looking great, Ken. Amazing, the effect such a tiny enlargement has on the general fit.

Ken, absolutely stunning work! I am really looking forward to see how you design the hatch. Any thoughts if it will be opening or fixed?

A few year ago I had the great pleasure of working with Apollo 7 astronaut, Walter Cunningham - we both wrote for the same magazine. I recently mentioned this thread and sent him some selected photographs. His response was much like ours, "Very, very impressive." Ken, you know you've accomplished something when your CM model impresses someone who actually flew in one!
