Excellent question!

Too soon to predict when this will be available.. Unfortunately, I can't formulate any predictions based on earlier projects I have done since the CM is MUCH more complicated than all of them combined!

But, I can predict that the instruction set alone will blow one's mind. I am not aware of any model out there that is constructed in the way the CM is designed; particularly with the intent to dis-assemble and reassemble seamlessly. The instructions will take alot of time (probably more than the model itself). We have all dealt with the instructions sheet for a typical aircraft model; especially low-detail aircraft, can be a little lean because most aircraft are built the same way. But this is a very different animal. You have my word that I will not release this model until I am satisfied that future builders will be successful. The model will also have to pass the critical scutiny of knowledgable people who know a fake when they see it. What you see so far is a prototype with issues. These issues will be corrected in due time; as the CM deserves an all-out effort.

Thanks for watching!

Ken

Ken, I'm just happy to see this one come together!

If and when you make it available I will be what I expect will be a very long line of happy modelers seeking to the opportunity and honor to build this amazing model. Until then, I continue to enjoy each and every update and feel very fortunate indeed to be able to witness the creation of this kit.

Cheers!
Jim

Ken, the CM is looking good. Your patience and perseverance is more than admirable.

Apologies for being a bit 'geek'! But when one sees that a skilled modeller such as yourself can produce quality like this, and quite quickly, the 'geeks' amongst us almost begin hoping that you can produce a near-perfect miniature from the rivets upwards, lol! It isn't a judgemental reaction, it is merely a huge, deferential bow having seen your wonderful craftsmanship. Keep up the amazing work, Sir!

Was fortunate enough to be in San Diego on business this past weekend, at very short notice, so I made sure to pop in to the San Diego Air & Space museum and have a very close look at the Apollo 9 CM 'Gumdrop'. A very hearty thanks to space author Francis French (francisfrench.net) for the admission ticket.

Thanks guys!

Tonight, I present to you, the hatch frame, and the forward girth shelf......

The hatch frame is probably one of the most difficult pieces of geometry I have ever done. But, it came out great, and the fit is really good too!

Picture 3 shows the latch pawl detents that get folded and glued into the frame... I elected to forgo the exercise of installing them for the prototype... I know they will fit.

NEXT: Forward windows.

If this is a tired old repeat I'll remove it, but I feel it needs to be said:

Hi Ken,

Looking fantastic!!!

Have you tried to post the photos in the text?

Easy to do, after you upload the photos, just click on the paperclip symbol, top of menu above text box, it will pop in automatically where the cursor is at, just paste the name of the photo.
