Ok this is going to be a rather dense question (must stop eating those lead doughnuts) and probably one for Billy to answer rather than Ken. Have looked here and on the web to get the right weight of card for the model unfortunately all the comparison tables, seem to have about three types of 110lb card depending on if it's, cover or index ranging 160gms to 280gms in metric equivalents. Any help? Thanks.

I used 170 gms for most of the model, Ken's design incorporates the thickness of the cardboard, It's quite important not to use any thicker as the model has so much sections , the thickness of the cardboard might triple up, when you use too thick board, resulting in fitting problems with the outher-shell , the heat-shield and BPC in the end.
But I used thicker cardboard (300gsm) for the heat shield, but there it doesn't matter , it made it just easier to edge glue the thing the metallic paper was much thicker |

Aha! So it should be 170 grams paper. Good to know. I'd probably have printed everything on 200 grams paper. But then again, I do all builds in 200 grams paper. Almost all.
Billy, do you really think the extra 30g make a big difference in thickness and fit? I'd hate to have dozens of useless printouts. |

I don't think 200 gsm will create a very big problem, but when I tried to be smart and doubled up the heat-shield and the floor assembly the outhershell just fitted. The thicker the material , the bigger the problem get

Ken's Apollo Command Module 1:12 Scale is Finished!
It's finally finished! WOW!
I have been away from the forum for a while - what a great comeback! I just bought and downloaded the new Apollo CM model. It is a marvel of design and model engineering. Thank you, Ken and Billy, for your amazing skills, tenacity and commitment! The display stand is also a very nice design. Thank you both again and all the best from Stockholm, Bengt |

As I was cleaning up files on my computer, I ran across the "mirrored panels" pdf's that I made for Billy. These are the parts required to print on the "printable" side of silver paper.
I placed them in the download section. Hopefully I didn't mess it up. If I did, hopefully a moderator will help put them in their proper category. Ken
