Very cool Gemini build by David Hanners
This is the same Delta 7 Gemini kit I have been trying to build. Very cool.

Are there many space guys here? I have seen the Gemini and Apollo threads. NASA has a bunch of paper models on their site, too.

I'm a space guy...
I'm starting work on Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo CSM at 1/12 if I can ever figure out how to print them all out at the same scale! |

Let me know how you make out on that - I have been wondering about that very same thing. Glad to see you here, BTW.

One right here! Now that I've finished with school, I'm planning to get a bit more modeling done. I want to re-tackle Surfduke's Apollo CSM. This was my last attempt (I gave up on the interior):

OK, I thought I'd try something again and it didn't work. Can anyone tell me why my avatar doesn't show up?

Nice looking ship. I have a plastic one I want to get into this winter. (Am I allowed to say that?)

I hope not, I've got a closet full of plastic. Truthfully though, I don't see putting any of them together any time soon, I just love the paper so much more. I think it's a better analogy to the original mediums.

Mechanic:
How in the heck did you get that gloriously beautiful brushed aluminum finish on the spacecraft skin? I am absolutely STUNNED at how gorgeous that is, and now you have me SO wanting to try that!! What on earth did you do? Oh, and Michael: I'm trying to find someone with a large-scale plotter to print the plan and parts out on to poster paper. I think that's the only way that one can be totally sure that the thing is printed at the proper scale, and that all the parts are the same size, and on a single sheet. If you know of anyone in the engineering world who has access to a large-scale plotter, that's the way to go, and I sure as heck want to hear about it!! LOL |
