Hear, hear!

I agree, that is a very nice looking Soyuz.

One thing came to mind reading the discussion re: PVC internal framework - PVC pipe is a relaitvely heavy material. As the model itself is made of paper (lightweight), the main issue is provided rigidity. Additionl weight will only complicate the whole design & build. Then it occured to me that you might consider reinforcing your modules using either a pourable or spray foam. Boating supply houses carry two part foam kits that are used to fill voids in hulls, just mix and pour then allow to fully cure up. "Great Stuff" insulating foam-in-a-can product is another alternative. If you were to make you own paper tubes, custom fit to your structure, then fill them with foam, the result would be quite rigid and super lightweight (when compared to PVC.) Direct reinforcement of your models might be possible, but you'd have to allow for the immediate and longer term curing expansion of the foams and provide a means of pressure relief. It would take some experimentation, but should provide a superior result by using thin walled tubes reinforced with rigid foam.

Gooood mornin'!

Hi folks!

Thank you all for your kind words.
As of now I am ok with my Soyuz. But maybe in the future I will redo it, because the ISS needs two Soyuz docked at a time.
And that wouldn't make a display (in my eyes *g*) if one of both is fuzzier than the other...

I agrree with you Inky, that no one will see it up close, hence it it hung up at approx. 2,20m.
But as Gideon said, I am truly my own worst critic.

But what about Zvezda and the HTV?
Well, as I hadn't finished either one of them, I decided to build these again with better textures.
And as the days were gone (I have not so much time for that hobby) the HTV is done and Zvezda has its main parts done.

Want to share some pix with you
As you can see at the docking section of HTV, I have included a paper roll,
glued to the "bottom" of the pressurized section.
There will go either a PVC tube, or as rbeach84 mentioned,
a lighter construction with foam or only another paper roll to hold the HTV correct at Harmony.

SMILES and HREP are shown to be seperated from HTV.
This is, because I want to fix them at their future place at Kibo.
So at my ISS the HTV pallet will be empty (or just unloaded )

So much for now.
Looking forward to your replies!

Robert

Absolutely beautiful - precise and clean!

So, have you found a museum lobby or aircraft hangar yet to display the finished project?

Yogi

BTW - many of our members are pretty quiet and don't comment much, but just watch the views counter on the PASA main page to see the interest your project is generating (1,260 so far ...).

Really nice! Working through a project like this must really be educational - sort of how I learned about automobile engines building plastic car models... back when the instructions had part names instead of just numbers!

I think that's true. I also do that. Before I start a new build I always first read background stories and/or documents about the thing I am about to make a model of. It's enlightening - and for me, it always adds an extra layer to the creation of a model. You know more of the components you are putting together and often also about the people that made it all happen.

Aye, modeling in a nutshell - at least the investigatory part of it!

The rest -ahhh, relaxing - is the handicraft.

Could've been my words, Robert.

(oh wow, my 1000th post has passed without knowing. Well, up to 1.111 then.)

Help?!

Hello guys,

can someone help me out?
I've got two Regul-antennas I have no idea where they are going to on zvezda.
I'm finishing the module right now and there is no description in the assembly log.
