Pad 39A-STS-134

Well, I went ahead and bought Dave Maier's shuttle pad, and I'll be building it after I finish my LUT. It was 74$ for the pad, and 25$ for the MLP. This isn't much compared to the Revell one, and all of It's PE detail sets. Why STS 134? It's the only Shuttle Mission I actually SAW at KSC.http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/...9/100_1710.jpghttp://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/...9/100_1719.jpg
The Shuttle Complex really is a wok of Art. I thought Alfonso's was good, but this is just WOW. Don't worry Sir, I still Love your models.=]. The printing is superb, many times better that the LUT, there are no "stairs" for zigzags, and the detail is excellent,http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/...9/100_3279.jpg
There are a hell of a lot of parts, 48 for the Pad, and 13 for the MLP! the manual is 140 pgs, and 65 pgs respectively.http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/...9/100_3273.jpg
Dave gives you the option of putting the Level Stairs, he gives you a cover for the old parts.http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/...9/100_3275.jpg
The RSS might possibly be the most complicated thing I have ever built, it makes up 3/4ths of the manual. http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/...9/100_3278.jpghttp://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/...9/100_3277.jpg
The Shuttle will, of course be Alfonos's, those are the best IMO. This is going to be a very big project, and I hope you all post, and comment!!

EDIT-thats 48, and 13 11 by 17 SHEETS, Not parts.

Well, that sure looks good. Nice artwork on the launch deck. Did I understand right that those stairs you showed also can be built separately?

Yes they can, but You have to scan and print. Also, with the LUT, you had to print the Deck Undersides out yourself, in this-http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/...9/100_3276.jpg
So much detail!

Yeah, impressive stuff. You'd almost be glad it's not all cut-out but merely printed. Imagine the work if all those latticeworks had to be cut out and made 3D.. (-;

Good grief! Look at ALLLL those pages. I'm having flash backs of the Sat V LUT. I must admit I wish these were printed on card stock.

obwand10 01-23-2012 06:03 PM

And they're 11 by 17 pages too. The LUT was only 18, this one is like 50. It kind of helps, having built(almost) the LUT, as some of the parts are similar. :rolleyes:
