Saturn V help needed

Hello to you all,

After finishing the Saturn V base (available at Jonathan Leslie's site) i am working on the second stage of the Saturn V.
I found several articles about a heat shield to protect the J2 engines but i am not able to find any pictures of it.:o
Is there anybody around this wonderful forum who can help me ??

Thanks in advance,

Greelt

Hi Greelt,

as I am in the process of designing a Saturn V myself, I should have that info somewhere.

I'll have a look - if you don't hear back from me, please give me a kick in the ass - I tend to forget things now that I am nearing 40

regards,
Michael

I am a big fan of the early NASA space programs, and I've done quite a bit of research as I've built (and prepare to build more) Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo spacecraft. I've come across the links below as great sources for Apollo reference photos. Hope they help!

I don't have a link to a picture right at the moment, but some of the plastic modelers have been looking at this, and found the engines do not look as we see them in the museum, but rather were wrapped with a bright silvery wrapping that looks like foil--the outside of the engine bells and all the auxiliary equipment, pumps, piping etc. I'll see if I can find something more authoritative on this.
