I accidentally cut the retaining straps for the retro package in two while cutting them out so they are not on this model. I was trying a couple of other techniques on this capsule so I'll be more careful on the next one - I am getting quite a collection of them now.

Thanks. It's a start...

I still have a hard time with small parts, and there are a couple of mistakes on this model, but I am improving. Practice makes better.

That looks great! I have that collection as well, but mine looks much duller. How did you get the model so shiny? Was it photo-paper?

Exactly. HP inkjet 66 lb. photo paper (250 gr./m2) to be exact.

I have built ships from the matte finish paper as well but the colors aren't as bright and the paper seems to expand a bit from the glue, making the parts hard to fit if they're not completely dry. My first experience with matte paper was with Al Shepard's ship, and it was much harder making the heatshield fit properly, and the capsule didn't look as good when finished.

Interestingly, the Gemini series seems to be easier to build and looks more natural when done in matte.

(The microscope and slide rule are real, not paper...)

By the way...does anyone know what the story is with Delta7 Design? They (he?) released some awesome stuff, then just seemed to stop. Right when they were going to release a Saturn V too!:(

He got as far as the Blue Gemini, and if you want a Saturn V there are others to be had around this site, as well as a lunar module, and an Apollo CSM.

But I don't know if he's still working on anything new or not.

Personally, I like the graphics on his models a lot.
