Gemini 8 & Agena Docking Target 1:24 scale

I built the Delta 7 Gemini 8 and Docking target in ~1:24 scale about 6 months ago, took some picts, and placed them in low Earth orbit to replicate the mission where Neil Armstrong and Dave Scott were almost kill when one of the thrusters on the Gemini began to miss-fire.. Thinking it was the Agena that was acting up they undocked and the Gemini began spinning at a rate of several rotations per second. They had only minutes to try to stabilize the Gemini long enough to orient it for re-entry. The mission ended several days ahead of schedule, but both survived to later fly to the moon in Apollo 11 and 15.

The models were photographed with a digital camera and then dropped onto a background photo of the Earth taken during the Apollo 17 mission.

Thanks for looking,
Swampfox

Well done, Swampfox. Clean builds.
I, too built these a number of years aog. I really like D7's models, especially the Gemini series.
Thanks for sharing.

I've been meaning to build these models, and actually started a couple years ago and got bogged down for some reason. You've inspired me to take another shot at it.

Beautiful work!

What WeeVikes said- I've had the same model for some time and have been meaning to build the Agena for ages. Yours looks awesome and makes me want to build my own. I' will have to make sure to place it back on my "must build" list for this year.
