I looked at his site.I translated it through google. He used fiber optics, but has bulbs at various levels inside the elevator shaft.I dont want to do that since I wont be able to take the LUT apart once it is finished.
Thanks for the info on how to make a light source.I plan on hiding the light source in the MLP base so I think I will have plenty of room.

Just remember to make the MLP STRONG. I mean STRONG. Mine got lopsided, and currently has its bottom torn out.

I am putting lighting in the brass kit.The base is plexiglass and is very strong. The brass kit must weigh about 20lbs total.
My milkstool kit should be arriving anyday along with a 1:144 Saturn 1B so I will have everything I need to make my 1:144 LUT diorama.Once that is done I will build the brass kit.

You could use White LED's instead of G-O-W/incandescent bulbs
The led's can be found as Ultra-Bright. Plus, They will last many
more years than standard bulbs.

Anyway here are a couple of pics of my progress so far.
Hi,

very interesting LUT model, have I understood it right, it is a brass model kit? Can you post some pictures in higher resolution to see some more details?

The kit was made by launchcomplexmodels, which is no longer in business. They produced 100 kits and then went out of business in 2003. They never finished the assembly manual so I decided to buy a paper kit to help me figure out how to build the brass kit. I do not have any photos of the kit, but if you look back in this thread you will see a link to a website of a completed brass kit built by a modeler in Holland.
The kit was VERY expensive, but it has amazing detail and looks great as a finished kit.
