Hi Jasper. Like all excellent work. Especially like the tower rescue elaboration. The inscriptions in the decal? Attractive working.. Zoli |

Ho-hum. Just a rocket? With a PK build, I expect the Atlas, a complete LC-14, maybe the CBS news van with Walter Cronkite announcing the launch, etc. I mean it is PK, after all....
Seriously, great build of an historical launch vehicle. |

Hahaha... LC-14? Oh my.. That would be a great paper model. I always liked the Revell model, however crude it was, with pad and rocket. But this just is for the rocket garden slowly becoming a forest. I now am doing MR-3, because that one is also an obligatory addition to the garden. After that... Well, it could be anything but I have some ideas for a diorama.
Does anybody know if there is an 1/96 model of Walter Cronkite somewhere? (-; |

looks great Jasper,
yes, i protect it after printing with glossy varnish, if you want the polished effect and with matt finish when you want the brushed aluminium effect, it still is abit tricky when you put glue in a place where it shouldn't be |

Yeah, well, I guess this is what people call 'to learn by experience'. It turned out well after all but a varnish over the print is what I'll do next time round.
I love the fact that glossy stuff now is printable. Thanks for the tip anyway, Billy. The stuff is nice and easy to use. |

...And MR-3 Friendship 7, also in 1/96th.
Because Mercury used two types of launchers I had to do the Redstone too. I used the 1/48 Card In Space model of Michael Urban for this build. A nice and straightforward one, A lot of parts for the engine section, and a bit of a hassle getting it all on in 96th. But in the end I managed to just that.
the capsule was printed on matte paper, the rest was glossy photo paper. The tower again was made from brass and pins. |
