Russkiy Business

So here's what I've been up to during the last couple months. I decided to replace my 1/144 resin models of several Russian/Soviet launch vehicles with 1/96 card model versions. From left to right:

* Leo Cherkashyn's Rokot, the launcher for NASA's GRACE satellites
* Leo's Tsiklon, launcher for the Sich-1 Ukrainian satellite
* ZiLi's Kosmos-3M, launcher for the Max Planck Institute's Abrixas satellite
* Erik te Groen's Kosmos-2 in Interkosmos livery.

No masterpieces a la Merzo or PK here, though I did add additional details to all four models. I built Leo's kits without all the internal stage parts. I also cut out the trusswork on the Kosmos-2 and inserted an engine bell between the stages. I couldn't resist doing the nameplates in Russian!

Constructive criticism welcome!

I suppose I really need to take a better pic. When I shoot, the image looks fine. When I bring it up in a graphics program for editing, it looks fuzzy as hell. Stay tooned.

Still very nice models. Do you use a tripod when shooting? You can find them for cheap at second hand stores. That and really good lighting can make all the difference. I would love to see close-ups of the bases.

Very nice indeed! I really like what I see there. Well displayed, and the accompanying logo really completes them. They are so colourful, too. Pretty, straightforward, decent builds, I would say. Well done!
(btw. love the thread title!)

Sweet builds. And a little sandpaper and varnish on a piece of wood makes each a $100 desk model! Nicely done on the display.
