The moon
I decided to finish a project that I started a couple of years ago; the MOON.
The Moon Globe is roughly 18 inches in diameter. (Those are my feet in the pictures, for reference). Basically, I took a flat map of the moon, and then used skewing techniques in Corel to make the facets. It's an accurate replica of the Moon, and it's surprisingly sturdy, and a perfect sphere. Ken

Although all the pictures are of the visible side, I'm sure it's accurate all around. As soon as you make this available at Ecardmodels, I think I know what I'm going to be busy with over a few days. . .

You brought back some old memories of my work with the USGS from 1970-1975. I was part of the airbrush Lunar Cartography team that created the maps you used for your globe. The original maps were airbrushed by cartographers from Lowell Observatory in the late '60's and then the USGS updated the data and added the albedo markings to the masters as that info was processed. I haven't seen them in many years and you did a great job generating the gores(facets) in making the globe. If you ever do make them available, I would really like a set. Thanks for the momories, Swampfox |

When I look at the pictures saying this ís it: I see a ball.. When I look around: I see flat... I must be messing something! Guess I need an Apollo-spaceship to get it right!

Nice! Now all it needs is a model of the Lunar Module parked next to it.
