Where's Moonport?
Hi all,
I noticed that Carl Hewlett's Moonport site has vanished. Does anyone have an idea of why and what happened? |

Subject of a couple messages on the Space Paper Models Yahoo group, but bottom line is no one knows why it disappeared.
I have a good bit of the stuff that was up there if you need something particular, PK. PM me! Les (The Voice of Authority -- Demos Soon!) |

Thank you, Les, but I think I have downloaded all the models on his site myself, too. It was more that I just thought of all those amazing models that newbies to the hobby are going to miss.
If we ask nicely and try and contact Carl via this site (or if someone has his email) do you think we could perhaps host his models in a special corner in our downloads section? Maybe this community then also can help in creating instructions for them. |

I too have all the models from the Moonport project site. If any one would like one of them they can PM me.

When a great paper model site goes down it's always like a stab in chest to me. I wish more site operators would open a thread at the forum before closing one to discuss options. I'm sure there are lots of models that could be posted in the forum downloads or hosted by other site operators who just want to keep them around.

There are, I know, but before dumpig them in the downloads section, we have to make sure the owner of the work agrees with it. I'd love to see Carl's models here in a special Surfduke corner of the Space section. Such a waste to see his models disappear.
I realised he's been gone out of the modeling world for quite some time now and that it's hard to reach him, apparently... |

It looks as though even the models are still on the Internet Archive.

Good find, Dave. I downloaded the Command Module and the Rover OK. Several of the PDFs don't open, saying "PDF file corrupted". At least some of it's still around, though.

On a closer look, only the command module and rover are whole. Surfduke's SA-1 is in the downloads section of the Zealot forum.
