So guys, more photos.

photo #1, Is thr Chassis frame Upper level befor any beams are installed.

Photo #2, Shows the beams under construction. I use the emery boards for spacing between the center support and the outside of the beam structure.

Photo's #4 and #5, Are the transparent foil of thr floor screens. The install was a real tight fit.

Photo #5, Beams all installed and also the frame faceing.

Photo #6, Chassis Frame Upper Level all glued and painted.

So the next stage of the build is to install all the Pipe Chords the brace the frame. I will have almost 200 little straws to make and install, I'll be buisy for a while but I'll keep posting.

Thanks, RichO, crawler 114

I can't even imagine how detailed Mischa's LUT kit will be when it's finally ready...

Thank you for the link...OMG....50k? This may be getting out of hand!

I think I'd be satisfied if I could do a decent job on just one of the swing arms...

Hey Guys,

It's been a couple of weeks here to build the Pipe Chord stage of the kit. I'm just going to show a few photos of this step. The chord section was just really time consumeing and tedious work.

I'l post shortly with the light test.

Photo #1, The first Pipe Chord

Photo #2, The finished frame

Photo #3, The last Pipe Chord!!

Photo #4, A thing of beauty,...or nightmares

Anyway all done with that, I'll post the light test later today, just have to take the photos.

Be back shortly RichO, 114

Alright Guys,

So the lighting test went well. The light fibers are slightly oversized, but what isn't at this scale. I think that when applied to the computer consoles and room lights the fibers wont look so out of place.

Photo #1, Is a material test. The card stock is the same as Mischa printed the kit onto and the DIA of the fibers is OK.

Photo #2, The scrap test is fine, on to a moc up

Photo #3, I drafted out a full sized console from the same paper the kit is printed on.

Photo #4, The photo is not that great, but you can see that the light test on a full sized moc up looks fine.

Photo #5, Now all I have to do is punch holes into my originals and apply to the model. That step is a little ways away, I still have to consider where and how the fibers will lay. I'm looking at the wireway chapter for that step tho.

I'll keep everyone informed as to how this will workout, for now I have to build up the corner structures first.
