Leo's Vostok on Lars Folmann's transporter

With Lars' permission, I upscaled his railroad transporter to (about) 1:48 and mated it with Leo's Vostok. I needed a stand for the Vostok, so this was a natural. I think Lars has created the only model of the R-7 transporter. It is a real gem.

Well done! The Vostok is gorgeous...an excellent build of a very good model.

This is really cool. You're tempting me to try a rocket

Rockets are not that difficult - just a bunch of cylinders and cones.

Of course people like me have some problems keeping the seams straight on those long cylinders. Good thing I'm not a cross-dresser. I'd be stocking challenged:D

Hey BARX2, this is a very nice Vostok, was this a flying kit or a scratch built? Heck, where can I get one of these.

Sorry I didn't give a link to Leo's site. You can download all his wonderful models here: Space flight paper modelling

No, Leo's model is for display only. If you want a flying Soyuz TMA - another great model - you can download Ton Noteboom's Soyuz here: http://jleslie48.com/gallery_models_real.html Scroll down to near the bottom of the page.

Ton's Soyuz can be built as a flying model or for display. I built the display version. It's also in 1:48 scale.

Here's a picture of Leo's Voskhod (a different version of the Vostok launcher) next to Ton's Soyuz TMA. The Voskhod was not quite finished at the time I took the picture - and before I cleaned my work table! :o

Thanks!

Appreciate your alerting us!

The first link's not responding. Is there an alternate?

Regards,
