Tu-104AK cosmonaut training aircraft

Gang,

Here's some in-progress shots of my take on Aaron Murphy's Tu-104AK cosmonaut zero-g trainer. Reduced to 1/100 from 1/72, modified windows to better resemble the actual aircraft sitting at Monino. I filled in some windows (yellow circles) that will later get a grill-pattern decal. Also moved a couple windows upward on the fuselage (green circle).

Working on the multi-part engine pods now, which are probably the most tedious parts.

Stay tooned!

Umm… Wouldn't that be enlarged?

Regardless, looks like a great build. Will be following this with interest.

Several pix of the real deal, for anyone interested! Dunno whether the second pic was shot before or after the others, but the aircraft sure looks a LOT better in that one!

No, it actually would not. The higher the number, the smaller the model. A 1/400 aircraft model is a lot smaller than a 1/33 model of the same plane.
So it actually is reduced in size from 1/72 to 1/100 with a factor of 72% of the original.

…Aaaand going back and re-reading things correctly, I see where I was wrong. Read the "to" and "from" in the wrong order.

Sorry!

(Sheesh… I feel like I'm back doing my high school reading assignments, learning how word placement and punctuation dramatically change a sentence… )

Very nice work Les, I'm looking forward to this build.

Will you be submitting this back to Aaron for resale?

Thanks,
Gary
