Card In Space 1:48 LJ1 (Throught the Wayback Machine)

I found the Little Joe from cardinspace.com through the Wayback Machine, and thought I'd make a thread about the build. I've only just started. Pictures incoming!!!

OK, here is the first image. I only have two fins and part if the capsule done. I was going to start with the main fuel tank, but my printer is being retarded and refuses to print the third page.

I have now completed the Mercury capsule + all the fins, and have started on the Little Joe itself (or himself, depending on how you look at it).

The rocket in the background is my 4D Vision Saturn V.

This is on my "long-term to-build list."

Thanks for including us in your build!

Looking good so far.

Thank you for the kind words!!!
I've continued on the main part of the rocket. The capsule adapter is already attached, and I have glued on the main thrusters. The smaller thrusters are in the process of being constructed.

I have finished all the thrusters, but sadly they turned out a bit messy.

I have also attached the four fins, and am now starting work on the escape tower.

And the Mercury-Little Joe is finished. The escape tower and probes could have been a bit neater, but overall I'm happy with how it turned out.

Next up: the Mercury-Redstone!!!

Looks great! Thanks for posting the build!

It looks like you used a somewhat lightweight paper. The heavier weight papers hold their shape much better an tend to give better results.
