Talking carolinakid28405's 1-48th Apollo/Saturn V and 1-24th scale Mercury Redstone

Hi everyone gotta a little free time before I go in to work tonight thought I'd share my current builds ----1-48th scale Apollo/Saturn V (mix of Ton's and Greelt's kits ) and my scaled up 1-24th scale Mercury Redstone (using the 1-48th card in space kit for the rocket body and Ton's capsule)also threw in a pic of my finished 1-24th Gemini capsule (Ton's kit) Progress is slow on them(rockets) but hopefully they will be finished one day ! all kits using 110# cardstock .

Goodness, that is going to be huge when completed. Will you have it set up to come apart for storage?

Thanks , Vermin_King The Apollo/Saturn is going to be just shy of 8' , I've been debating whether to build it one piece or build it so it comes apart . I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there ! Thanks Paper Kosmonaut the Gemini is kind of my favorite too !!

Well so far the 1-48th Saturn V stack has grown a bit , I have completed and installed the interstage and am starting on the second stage (third stage and the CM/SM are complete), once the second stage is complete all I have left is building the four remaining F-1 engines (I have one built already) and add details to the stack and it will be finished !!!! woohoo !!! It's been a long road but I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with this project ! I will post some pic's .

I've made a 1-48 SatV before and it is a monster. It has the footprint of a pizza.

If you ever expect the need to move it (even from one room to another), build it so that you can separate the sections. Otherwise it becomes a nightmare.

Thanks for the advice Thales , I've come to realize the same after stacking the build to check for alignment problems after building the S2 section. I think I will have the stack come apart right at the interstage / S2 break. BTW you have a beautiful build of the Saturn V , which kit is it ?
