Parts 251a, 251b, 252, and 253 form shelving in Quad II. Part 251b is glued to the back of part 251a to create 2-sided printing on a portion of the part. It receives a couple of folds to form the back of the shelving. Part 252 is folded in half to form 2-sided printing for a divider between the two halves of the cabinet. Part 253 is folded in half for 2-sided printing and forms the top of the shelving.

The parts are installed in Quad II to close in the cabinet.

There are 4 large tanks in the descent module. Parts 254 through 263 form the tanks, although there is a total of 54 parts since there are several copies of each as follows:

254 (4): These form some type of bracket protecting the tanks. I shaped them by dampening slightly and using a small wooden doming block.

255 (2): These form support brackets under 2 of the tanks. They are formed by folding in half for 2-sided printing then a small arc cut out.

256a,b,c,"c",d (2 each): These form the upper half of 2 of the oxidizer tanks. There are two completely different parts labeled 256c which is why I listed both c and "c". Parts 256a,b,c form the half spheres. They were shaped using a small wood doming block. I used thin paper tabs to help with the alignment. Parts 256"c" and 256d form the end cap. The center of 256"c" is cut out and glued to the back of 256d so that the cap (which is flat) can sit snugly on top of the spherical tank. 265"c" was not thick enough by itself to allow it to lay flat, so I glued several sheets of card stock together to thicken it up.

257a,b,c,d,e (2 each): These form the opposite half of the oxidizer tanks and are assembled same as the other half, except that the end cap is 3 layers.

258 (2): This is the center section of the oxidizer tanks that elongate the tanks and connect the two dome ends. There are 'paper thick' relief cuts on one edge that are easy to miss that are used to attach to 259. This round part was attached to 257.

259 (2): This is a center brace that helps keep the tank circumference round. There is a small portion that is folded in half to form 2 sided printing and rigidity. I first attached the 257/258 side of the tank since it is the one with the relief cutouts. I then attached 256.

260a,b,c,"c",d (2 each): Identical to 256 except a different color for the fuel tank.

261a,b,c,d,e (2 each): Identical to 257 except a different color for the fuel tank.

262 (2): Identical to 258 except a different color for the fuel tank.

263 (2): Identical to 259.

Here they are...54 separate parts (not counting tabs) forming 4 tanks and 2 braces ready for installation onto the descent module.

Really nice work. And, yeah, it's inspiring.

I'm wondering, though -- Uhu02 includes the LM's external skins to go over the interior detail, and from your experience, could one assemble them without all the inside stuff? I've long wanted to build the LM, but I don't need to deal with the internal stuff. Could his external skins be used all by themselves?

Build the basic framework. It should hold up enough to place the skins over it.

Mechanic: Go for it...as you can tell, I am just taking it slow and enjoying the journey.

dhanners: I think many of the interior details could be left out. Many will be completely hidden in the finished model. Nevertheless, some of the structure would probably be needed to mount the skins onto. Try it out. Would love to see someone try that approach.

Indeed, I've seen it. I think UHU02's version includes better surface detail, though.

I'm going to try my hand at the U-Don LEM, but I'm enamored with UHU's version.

It's an astounding amount of detail.

Once the skin is on, is it on for good?
