Thanks for the words of encouragement!

Part 274 is a frame for Quad 2 (left rear) compartment. Simple box on the top edge, with tabs along the bottom edge folded over for 2-sided printing.

Parts 275a/b are simple tubes mounted to the ALSP assembly. Parts 275c/d are brackets attached to 274 where the tubes join.

These will be attached to the model later when the ASLP is mounted to Quad 2 to make sure everything fits together well.

The ASLP door will be visible when the model is completed so I needed to figure out how to apply the realistic finishes instead of the printed gold and black.

Parts 276a/b/c, and 277a/b/c are the interior side of the door. Parts 279 and 280a/b/c are the exterior side of the door. Part 278a is the exterior of the side flap door, and part 278b is the interior side of the flap door.

I started out by trimming the printed gold parts out of part 276a and leaving the frame intact. Part 280a is essentially the same shape as 276a which represents the black foil on the exterior of the door. I pasted some gold wrapping paper onto black aluminum foil. I then pasted the trimmed part 276a onto the laminated gold/black sheet, then cut the perimeter. It was then folded into shape.

I prepared parts 276b/c in a similar way, but instead of pasting them onto gold/black sheet, I pasted them onto gold/gold sheet. This eliminated the need for parts 280b/c since they were essentially gold print for the back sides of parts 276b/c.

Parts 277a/b/c are interior braces folded in half forming 2-sided printing.

Part 279 was prepared similar to to part 276a on gold/black sheet.

Parts 278a/b were a bit more complicated. I left the part on the sheet and cut out the frames. I then cut a piece of gold/black sheet the size of the door and used the cut out sheet as a template for positioning the parts then trimmed the completed piece. A bit difficult to explain so hopefully the pictures will help.

The doors were then assembled and mounted onto the Descent Module.

Wonderful work with the gold foil. I regret a lot not having done the same but, in the original scale, your fine cutting work wouldn't be easy I'm afraid. Anyway, in next life, when (if) I'll build the LEM again I'll choose to upscale it a little...

Let me know just one thing: you made the little door hinges (on the left) working? The parts are very little and fragile so I eventually decided to fix them in open position. The main door was another thing difficult to keep in position once finished. How did you deal with the issue? Are your doors all operational or you plan to keep them open (or closed)?

Dhanners: Thanks for your words of encouragements. Still plugging away.

Toning: The door hinges work, but are pretty fragile. Basically the fold in the paper. The doors are operational at this point but quite fragile. Not sure whether to fix them open or closed, or to leave them operational. Will have to figure that out as part of the finishing touches. Would be nice to keep them operational, but as you say, they are not so easy to keep in position.

Part 281a is the landing radar antenna. Pretty complex shape, but well designed in paper. Part 281b is the mounting post for the antenna that glues onto part 282. Part 281b and 282 are glued to the bottom of the Descent Module and the antenna (part 281a) slides onto the post.

Parts 283a/b form the landing radar electonics assembly. They are a couple simple boxes glued on top of each other then mounted into the wall of the quad.

Parts 284a/b are larger simple boxes that form 2 subpackages that are stored in the quad bay.

Parts 285a/b/c/d/e/f form a water tank for the Quad. Essentially a spherical shape on one half and more conical shape on the other.

Parts 286 and 287 are folded in half for two-sided printing forming mounting brackets for the water tank. There is a 3rd prong to the bracket for the one that goes on the top of the tank that is connected to part 270.

Along to Quad III.

Parts 288 and 289 are simple boxes attached to the walls of the quad.

Part 290 is a six sided tank, easy to assemble.

Parts 292a/b/c/d/e/f form a small tank. Parts 295a/b/c/d/e/f form a larger tank. I used internal tabs to help align the parts for assembly.

Parts 291, 293, 294 and 296 are brackets to attach the tanks.

The diagonal brace across the quad section (part 270) had to be removed because the six sided tank (part 290) interfered with it. Seems that may have been a mistake in the design so I just cut off the cross brace.

Welcome Wichita!

I'm about to embark on some Saturn/Apollo builds between now and July, to commemorate half a century since Apollo 11.

Great work on UHU02's LM!

Now for Quad IV with the MESA. I assembled the parts a little bit out of numerical order because it made more sense in my mind, but in the end all the parts are there.

Parts 297a/b are simple boxes attached to the walls of the quad.

Part 299 is a brace for the MESA with 2-sided printing.

Part 301 is the MESA blanket. I glued gold foil paper to both sides for realistic finishes then folded into shape. I also touched up the edges with a gold colored marker. A few odd folds to account for the bulge, but pretty easy to shape.

Part 298 is the case attached to Quad IV which houses the MESA. I also covered both sides with gold foil paper and touched up the edges with a gold colored marker.
