Phantom's fledgling rocket park (WIP)

Well, it took me long enough. But I figure with the amount of paper and card stock that I've cut I need to display at least some of it, in some manner. So... Here we go.
The Athena is available at Ares Paper Models, the Vega at Dragos Cardmodels, the brothers Minotaur is the work of Ericks Paper Models while the CST-1000-Apollo and the S-IVb with LES is from Ton Noteboom.

I've got more to photograph. And I've got some stuff on the table to finish up. The Saturn S-2 is taking up a majority of the desktop as I'm trying to finish up the fuel line fairings and LOX vent.

Thanks guys! All the ones from the first post are 1:96 scale, I was thinking about forming a 96 scale mafia, but a visit to the AXM paper model site fixed that for me. I've still got more to photograph and post, but for now here is the "lawn dart" Aries 1-X in 1:144. I've been holding off on the shuttle from here as I thought it might be beyond my reach at the moment. But the fit-and-finish of the 1-X here made me change my tune. I think the crawler, MLP and shuttle stack might be a Christmas vacation project.

You can always up- or downscale, of course. All my rockets are 1/96th. I just upscale the AXM ones. I accidentally built an 48th scale rocket (Leo Cherkashyn's Voskhod 2) in the beginning and was a little taken aback by its size.

And as far as the AXM shuttle goes: Just give it a try. It isn't really hard. The instructions are very clear and the result is almost always very enjoyable. However, to do it all in an Xmas vacation period might prevent you completely from doing anything sociable with family and friends... (-;

Finally finished the Saturn S-2 stage. I'll get a picture or two in the morning, as I've got to get ready for work at the moment (midnight shift, yippee!).

At 28 inches tall now (with the LES), I figure I'm just past the 1/2 point.

Taking up more "space" on my desk than I'd intended, but...

Side by side they are pretty manageable, the fit-n-finish is pretty good once stacked, but the LES is kind of wobbly. If anything is going to fall off it'd be that...
The "little" Athena is shown as a reference. Like I said, approx 28" tall so far. I may have to display it like the museums in Huntsville and KSC. It's going to take up a lot of shelf space no matter what.

Taking a break on the Saturn 5. I figure it's a a good point to take a breather.

In the meantime... Taking a shot at the Direct line of launchers. This kit has a slight challenge to it, because it doesn't have the "connectors" that many other kits have, you've got to make them yourself. But if you've built a few rockets, you know what you need to know (and there's more than one way to make them anyway, so there's a bit of freedom to it).

Anyway. The upper section; apart, assembled, and with the build pieces so far.

Looks great so far. I like the stands. Looking forward to more.
