New Horizons -- Next Stop Pluto!

Gang,

Here's my rendition of Vaughn Hoxie's 1/25 New Horizons model. The NASA spacecraft will become the first to visit the Pluto-Charon system next year.

I covered the spacecraft body with gold foil and added lots of details including the tiny thrusters, science instruments and antenna supports from various materials. I also reconfigured the RTG (Radioisotope Thermal Generator) fins since I just couldn't understand the instructions.

I think it turned out well. As always, comments welcome!

Nice-looking model with great detail work Les. Do you know offhand when New Horizons was launched? (I could look it up but it's a lazy Saturday morning.)

Nice model, now it's time to look it up on the Net, to see what it's all about.
One of the many things I love about PaperModelers site. Education of the mind.
Good display, are you out of room yet?
